Tracey B. Cowan is a Partner at the firm and practices in the San Francisco office. Her practice centers on civil rights law, fertility matters, financial crimes disputes, and complex civil litigation. As one of the pioneers of the firm’s embryo loss practice group, Tracey has developed unique expertise in this burgeoning area of law. She has served as counsel on many of the firm’s most publicized cases in this practice area, working closely with plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts to vindicate her clients’ rights. She also has extensive experience in the areas of student loan law, human rights, and qui tam litigation. Prior to working at Peiffer Wolf, Tracey was an associate in the San Francisco office of one of the largest international corporate law firms. There, her practice focused on complex civil litigation, competition matters, and civil rights issues.
As an experienced litigator, Tracey has been quoted in dozens of national and international publications, including CNN.com and Sing Tao USA. She also made multiple television appearances, including on Fox, ABC and CBS.
Tracey received her B.S. in 2002 from New York University, graduating with honors. She obtained her J.D., in 2006, from Northwestern University School of Law. While at Northwestern, Tracey served as a volunteer mediator for the Cook County Court System.
Tracey is a Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Bar Association of San Francisco.
